| MOUNT TRIGLAV - Slovenia Triglav, Slovenian Alpi Giulie's highest mountain, is a symbol for this young country. Its sketched silhouette waves on Slovenia national flag and it is represented on banknotes; a lot of associations have its name and, with no pretentions, we can find it on inns and pubs' signs. But the most important aspect of Slovenians' attachement to this mountain, and the spiritual value given to it, struk root in history and mythology. Every "true" Slovenian must climb it once in his/her life, and that's why one can find children, young and old people on its top. All around Triglav there is a big national park that includes other mountains, lakes, rivers and springs. |
