NOSY BE and SAINTE MARIE- Madagascar
Nosy Be and Sainte Marie, small islands that surround Madagascar, recently discovered by tourism, but still out of the main holiday streams. Their inhabitants partially still live following ancient and natural rhythms and habits: the same ones that were followed when the island was a pirate base. Sainte Marie people live in huts, fish and cultivate land as it was done ages ago, wake up and go to sleep with the sun. But progress with its contrasts and contraddictions have reached them. This service concentrates on human activities out of the postcard-white-palmed beaches. [colour images, text available] |

EGADI ISLAND - The Largest Italian Sea Reserve - Italy
Located in the offing of Sicily's western coast, Egadi are Sicilian easiest-to-reach islands. Their cristal water, their richness of life -like few other places in the Mediterranean sea- their geological and architectonic peculiarities, their ancient traditions and wonderful landscape are just a few attractions of these three small islands. Favignana is the largest, most touristic and worldly one; Levanzo is the most quiet and small one and Marettimo is the wildest one, even though there is a network of paths that covers it. It is also the farthest one; it is mountainous, large and well kept.

CORSICA'S COASTS- France
Corsica's coasts, high and fretted in the west, and low and sandy in the east, hold some of Mediterranean most spectacular scenarios. In the north-western area the sea deeply penetrates the coast creating bays that remind fiord. Its rocks, eroded by the wind, rain and sea, have assumed incredible shapes and colours. But Corsica isn't just landscape, it also offers typical villages, with their characteristical stone architecture.

EOLIE ISLANDS - Italy
Eolie is the only Mediterranean archipelago that hosts a volcan which is always active: Stromboli, an incredible cone, about 1000m high, that pops up from Tirreno waters. Every night its burning lapilli are thrown from the volcano's mouth raying the sky with red. This isn't the only peculiarity of these islands, everyone of the seven has different characteristics: one can go from the ancestral peace of the quiet and isolated Alicudi, to the VIP-frequented Panarea.

TRIESTE - Italy
Trieste is one of Italy more particular cities: situated in the north-east it had been under Austro-Hungarian Empire as well as Istria until 1954 when it definitely became Italian, though it remains home to a sizable Slovene minority.
Its geographical position, at a point where the Adriatic Sea meets and at the same time divides the German and the Slave backgrounds, the Latin and the Balkan worlds, has always played a determining role in the history of Trieste.

MOUNT TRIGLAV - Slovenia
Triglav, Slovenian Alpi Giulie's highest mountain, is a symbol for this young country. Its sketched silhouette waves on Slovenia national flag and it is represented on banknotes; a lot of associations have its name and, with no pretentions, we can find it on inns and pubs' signs. But the most important aspect of Slovenians' attachement to this mountain, and the spiritual value given to it, struk root in history and mythology. Every "true" Slovenian must climb it once in his/her life, and that's why one can find children, young and old people on its top.
All around Triglav there is a big national park that includes other mountains, lakes, rivers and springs.

RED SEA - Egypt
The Egyptian Red Sea is universally known for its colourful and lively depth. Two of the most popular bathing villages are Hurgada and Sharm-El-Sheik, but hte best way to enjoy the Red Sea is doubtless a cruise. Egypt's arid and lifeless coasts contrast with the unreal blue of the sea, the desert dives directly in the sea, while on the background the sharp Sinai picks crown the landscape.

CHARMING CUBA
The majority of tourists go to Cuba to enjoy the sea and the sun, but this beautiful island's real fascination is to be found far from its white beaches. Infact Cuba's charm is about the people, their warmth, kindness and their welcome to foreigners; all this is surrounded by a calm and relaxed atmpsphere, despite the echonomical problems that the Island has. Colonial architecture, rich nature, traditional music, dance and people's beauty complete the the nice impact...
