NOSY BE and SAINTE MARIE - Madagascar
See also: Sainte Marie People (black and white portrait story) and Madagascar (colour images)

Nosy Be and Sainte Marie, small islands that surround Madagascar, recently discovered by tourism, but still out of the main holiday streams. Their inhabitants partially still live following ancient and natural rhythms and habits: the same ones that were followed when the island was a pirate base. Sainte Marie people live in huts, fish and cultivate land as it was done ages ago, wake up and go to sleep with the sun. But progress with its contrasts and contraddictions have reached them. This service concentrates on human activities out of the postcard-white-palmed beaches.
